In summary, SCS’ privacy policy is simple and intended to conform with CANSPAMand CASL regulations. We collect personal information for contact purposes only and do not publish or use personal information from users for advertising or submission to third parties. We understand that you may very well wish to remain anonymous and we intend to respect that.
What personal information do we collect?
When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter the minimum required name, email address, mailing address, phone number or other details to help you with your experience. Most often, we ask you to do business by emailing us rather than filling out forms on the site. Exceptions are donations made through third parties (e.g. Paypal) which may require information so we can contact you if problems arise.
When do we collect information?
We collect information from you when you register on our site, subscribe to a newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form make a donation or enter information on our site.
How do we use your information?
We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

How do we protect visitor information?
Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible.
We use regular Malware Scanning.
We do not use an SSL certificate

Do we use ‘cookies’?
We do not use cookies for tracking purposes

We have not enabled Google AdSense on our site but we may do so in the future.
Protection of Minors
We do not intentionally collect information from people under the age of 18 without specific permission from a parent or guardian. We edit content to ensure that it does not contain images or text that is inappropriate for minors.
Hate Literature
We do not publish literature that we consider to be hateful or discriminatory as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada. Content is edited to promote the rights of Secular Humanists as guaranteed by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms without impinging on the rights of others

CAN SPAM Act
CASL is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for violations.

– Keep you informed about our activities on Secular Humanists’ behalf
– Keep you informed about issues arising from systemic discrimination against non-believers in Canada,
– request information about local discrimination,
– solicit support in the form of donations to support our activities
